We were so excited to kick off another year at Heartland MOMS! Your steering team has been working hard behind the scenes to plan a fun year for you! One big change this year is our name! Instead of calling ourselves Heartland MOPS we renamed our self Heartland MOMS to better reflect our group. We are for ALL moms with kids of ALL ages! Moms need friendships and support, not just during the baby and preschool years. We can't wait to see what this year has in store for our group!
Another change we decided to make this year was to eliminate the tables and small groups and instead spend time getting to know ALL of the moms at Heartland MOMS! With our theme this year emphasizing building relationships and community what better way to do that then to spend time getting to know all of the moms in our group!
We also enjoyed snacks provided by the Heartland MOMS steering team . Thank you, Jessica, for the gorgeous centerpiece!
We started our meeting by celebrating summer birthdays and welcoming the new babies to our group. Thanks again, Jessica, for the cute birthday gifts and baby hats, and thanks Maegan for the bows for the little girls!
MOMS Coordinator Lindsey kicked our meeting off on a great note. Thanks for all of your hard work, Lindsey, and for your passion to help all moms in our area make friendships and connections. And for looking hot while doing it! ;-)
After several rounds of some really fun ice breakers (thanks Gretchen and Maegan!) we gathered to work on a really fun craft- making t-shirt scarves!
Some of you ladies got very detailed and crafty with your creations. And some t-shirts flat out didn't work, but we all had fun talking, laughing, and creating!
We hope you all enjoyed our first meeting of the 2012-2013 Heartland MOMS. Come back next month for even more fun and chances to build friendships! And as always, bring a friend! Every mom is welcome!
