Party For The Good

School is back in session! While most kids hate leaving the lazy days of summer behind, there are so many in the Heartland area that are glad to be back at school. Why? Because for them school is the one place where they can guarantee they will get a meal! No child should have to go hungry at home! Let's do what we can to help these children and their families in our community!

MOPS mamas are ready to party while we feed the need in Southeast Missouri. This event will take place September 30th from 4:00pm-8:00pm and it is to pack backpacks for Southeast Missouri Food Bank's BackPacks For Friday Program.

BackPacks For Friday is a child feeding program administered by the Southeast Missouri Food Bank that meets the needs of hungry children and their families when other food isn’t available such as weekends. The program is serving 350 students in 15 elementary schools.

The goal is to pack 11,000 bags!!!!!!!!!!

These children and their families need your help!

This event is hosted by Southeast Missouri Food
Bank and Retired Senior Volunteer Program /
Volunteer Intergenerational Center.

If you would like to register for this service opportunity, please e-mail the MOPS Service Team Leader Heather at stipe_8@yahoo.com

Hope to see you there!

MOPPETS

We encourage all moms attending MOPS to allow dads, grandparents, neighbors, friends, babysitters, etc. to care your children while attending the MOPS meetings. For those of you who are unable to make other arrangements for your children, childcare is available at MOPS meetings. You MUST pre-register for childcare before bring your child to the nursery. Call coordinator Lindsey at 332-0467 to reserve your spot. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis!

MOPS child care is for children birth through kindergarten. While you attend the MOPS meetings your children will be lovingly cared for by our nursery workers, allowing you time to refresh , recharge, and connect with other moms. Registration is required, and you may begin dropping your children off beginning at 6:15 P.M. (no earlier please).

Homemade Sidewalk Chalk Paint!

Want some good, cheap, not entirely clean fun? Make sidewalk chalk paint!

All you need is:

1 cup of water
1cup of corn starch
food coloring

Mix the water and corn starch together (I used my plastic storage bowls) and add in your desired color. Stir until the desired color is reached. Use old house paint brushes and get to painting your driveway and sidewalk in to beautiful masterpieces (or are the MESSterpieces?).
